In 1980 Andrew Kostecki joined Morley Performance as a manager to become industry leaders, building competition engines in a small workshop in Bayswater, Perth, WA. The demand became high for Morley Performance resources and it was time to move on. Within two years a new building of 1500 square feet of floor space was needed. It wasn't long before Morley Performance revamped the empty building sectioning off a dust free engine room, machine shop room, show room and more recent state-of-the-art flow testing room and a 89 decibel engine cell. The move to the new premises saw a name change to Total Performance building oval track engines and street drag engines. The target of Total Performance became to build race winning combinations. In 1989 Kostecki turned to Prostock drag racing, building the engine and car at workshop facility. The Ford Telstar was a front runner running consistent 8.66 ET's at 166 MPH. Kosteckis took aside and built Australia's number one jet boat Chev engine. Andrew was also competing in limited sprint car series winning northwest and southwest championships. The drag racing bug was back, the Kostecki team applied their engineering skills and built a sixty foot truck and trailer combination to run the Prostock Australian series and was the second team to run Australia first seven second pass. The new 1996 Mustang was a hard hitter from day one, winning the opening event at Ravenswood International raceway in 1996. Team Kostecki secured Mobil sponsorship backing for the team and the Mustang is now the fastest normally aspirated small block Ford in Western Australia and finished in the top ten ET in the '97 series Prostock events and qualifying in every round attended. Kostecki have their name to the winning combination of the HSV GTS Commodore that won the 1998 nationals, also has the fastest lap times of Sandown and Wanneroo raceway in its class. Andrew and Steven Kostecki have worked throughout the U.S. with leading engine builders. Andrew Kostecki being an invited guest at Penske Racing Nascar division in North Carolina, also worked with Jim Bell Racing Heads which Jim is now the head of the researching and development program at Nikens raceshop currently research and developing for Chrysler Corporation. Andrew Kostecki attended a Roy Hills Prostock racing school and drove the prostock Mustang the of the IHRA World Finals. In recent, Kostecki Engine Centre have invested in engine research having the best Dyno Cell outside the U.S.A. KEC have currently installed a SuperFlow-901 full computerized engine dyno and a SuperFlow-1020 CFM ProBench. K.E.C have their own brand name of engines and cylinder heads. The Street Performer, Street Racer, Bracket Racer, Personalized Bullets, Commercial Street Torker, and Aqua Sport Engines. We cater for all engine applications and are the only shop in W.A. to have all these resources under the one roof from engine design, engine machining, to flow testing and engine dyno tuning.
